It was fantastic for us here at Encompass to participate in a recent webinar hosted by BrightTALK on what best practice within the field of risk and compliance looks like.

As we are aware, the Money Laundering Regulations due to come into play at the end of June 2017 will have a profound effect for those working in the field of risk and compliance.

It is more vital than ever that risk and compliance professionals understand, and are fully equipped with the most up-to-date knowledge and understanding of compliance regulation to avoid falling foul of the new regulations. In this sixty minute webinar hosted by BrightTALK and featuring encompass VP Operations, Alex Ford, they discuss the changes that will be brought about by the new legislation and what challenges are traditionally faced by compliance teams.

Also discussed during the webinar:

  • How to better handle performing client due diligence on an ongoing basis?
  • What are the challenges of the traditional AML/KYC procedures?
  • What can we expect from the AML Directive that comes into force in June of this year?
  • What are the common mistakes FIs make when managing their data?
  • How can Machine Learning and automation help?

This webinar featured as part of BrightTALK’s series on Solving Security, Authentication and Fraud Challenges.

Alex Ford | VP Marketing & Operations | Encompass

In a journey that has taken her from Sydney to Scotland, Alex has worked with encompass since the company was founded in 2012.

Alex re-located to Glasgow in 2015 when encompass launched in the UK and played a key role in the establishment of the UK operation. As Vice President of Operations and Marketing, Alex brings customer focus, strategic thinking and innovation to the business. In addition to overseeing the UK operation from the head office in Glasgow, she leads the marketing, customer success and product teams.

Previously, Alex was Marketing and Innovation Manager for the Institute of Executive Coaching and Leadership in Sydney and Hong Kong, and prior to that marketed software company The Distillery. She holds degrees in Japanese and Marketing, as well as Digital Marketing qualifications from ADMA and Product Marketing from UC Berkeley. When she is not engrossed in all things Encompass, Alex is exploring Scotland, serves as a Director in her family’s Wholesale Coffee Distributorship business (despite letting down the Aussie stereo type and actually being tea-devotee!) and practices yoga.
